Packing Up...Here We Go!

It's actually happening. Our visas arrived last week and we have been busy preparing for this coming Sunday...the big day! It's hard to believe this part of our journey is almost done.

Here are a few photos of Tuesday's packing-up day:

They actually wrapped every piece of furniture in a 6-layer packing paper. In some cases they even shrink wrapped too like the couch in the photo above (it's standing on end).

The shipment went to some warehouse where it has been packed into a 20 foot container which is then railroaded to the East Coast somewhere to meet a ship going to France.

We're praying that God will provide an apartment within the next 6 weeks so that we are ready to have our stuff brought straight to an apartment when the shipment arrives in Paris.

Now, just for fun, here's a photo of my family by a corn field. It has just pained me to think that I, a small town Iowa girl who grew up surrounded by corn fields had children who had never set foot in a corn field! So, last week while we spent time with my (Jill's) family, we made a point of getting into a corn field. This picture was taken July 22nd and check out the height of that corn! Amazing!

That's it for tonight! Next blog...from Paris! Yippee!
