Ah....but for us, it's not just Valentine's Day, it's also Ryan's birthday. (He finds great joy in the fact that he STOLE our lovey day. All boy, this one.) So, today was full of celebrating a very special 8th birthday. What fun it was!

A treasure chest cake. Sadly, the grocery store was out of the gold wrapped chocolate Euro coins that would have really "sold" the idea of this cake.
We had a party today. A great group of boys came...and lo and behold...I got flowers! Have I mentioned before how much I love the flower bearing guests of France? Just fabulous. And, the ribbon on the flowers said "Happy". What could be better?
The boys went on a treasure hunt. The clues were typed in teeny-tiny sized type so that a magnifying glass was needed. :-)
One of the clues was taped to the back of this billboard. It's located on the street just below our balcony. It was fun "spying" on the boys as they searched.
Ah, after searching for all 13 clues....the treasure!!!!

We are so thankful for how God has answered our prayers regarding good friends for Ryan. It was a joy to meet them and some of their parents.And, we are thankful for Ryan! Happy Birthday, Ryan!!!!

Happy Birthday dear dear Ryan. We miss you! We are so glad that the LORD has brought you some friends to celebrate with. We all get very teary eyed whenever we read messages from your family - we are so thankful to know you and to be part of your lives, but we really do miss having you near us.
