Why would we post a picture of our van on this blog? Can you tell that the van is parked in the garage? This sight is worth noting because it's becoming UNUSUAL!
Yes, we're finding out this "journey to France" includes lots of travel. Where have you been in the span of 17 days? For us, 17 days equals three states and many hours on the road squeezed between school days. But, the travel is worth it. On the other end we find many tremendous friends and lots of warm fellowship. During the drive, we get time to sit (not always possible at home), to think, to talk and to pray. For all of these things we are thankful!
I also realize these "days in a van" are numbered. As missionaries in Paris, we won't own a car. I try to ponder what life will be like when we finally get to France.
And, the children? How do they like the road? We cannot always say this, but we actually did something smart! We got 3 refurbished MP3 players (super cheap!) off the Internet and loaded them up with our kids' favorite music. They're not allowed to use the MP3 players any other time but in the car. After the first 6 hour drive with the MP3's, we arrived at our destination and Lena said, "Wow, that was fast, Mom!" Bravo!
